Home Sweet Home

We were all so glad to arrive safely back at home on Tuesday evening. Cassidy really had fun in her new borrowed toy from Kayla. We thought she might like using the walker to stretch out her legs and we were right. At first she just sat in it (her feet just barely touch the ground on the lowest setting) but by the next day, she was mobile! (See the videos for proof that the girl can move!)

Hugging Cousins

Kayla LOVES Cassidy. Nothing is more true. She can't get enough of her! Kayla is the sweetest, most loving cousin we could want for Cassidy. She just keeps hugging, and hugging, and hugging "Beebee CaaCaa".

Detour

We decided to break up the long drive home from Ohio with a quick trip to Port Huron. We were there less than 24 hours, but it was good to have a break and enjoy some unexpected time with the other grandparents, Uncle Aaron, Aunt Sheri and cousin Kayla. As usual, the girls were so very cute together!

Sunday

On Sunday, the last full day of our visit, we went to Lutheran Village for worship. Cassidy did a good job of charming all the residents, many of which exclaimed, "She looks just like a baby doll!" She sure is great at putting smiles on faces!

Friday Fun

On Friday of our visit to the folks in Ohio, it was a beautiful spring-like day. We did some shopping, had a nice walk, then had dinner with Kurt's cousins Jesse and Julie Heetland and their kids Gabriel and Laurel. It was so good to see them! (We especially enjoyed Jesse's Chai tea!)

First Trip to Grandpa and Grandma Jensen's House

Today we drove to New Albany, Ohio to visit Grandpa and Grandma Jensen for the first time with Cassidy. We wondered how she would do in the car for such a long trip and were so happy that it went well. We were able to feed her in her car seat for the first time, which meant we didn't have to stop each time she needed to eat (which was frequently, as usual!) It's good to be with our family!

Today we're starting to pack for our trip to visit Grandpa and Grandma Jensen later this week. Cassidy's clothes are so small, they hardly took up any room in her bag...so little that there was room for her too!

Reading the Bible with Daddy

We recently bought a copy of The Jesus Storybook Bible, an awesome Bible for kids. We've been reading it to Cassidy daily. We're amazed at how long she will sit and listen to the stories and look at the pictures.

When I was holding Cassidy, Kayla just so cutely climbed up onto my lap. It was so precious! She wanted to be part of the lovin'!

Dedication Day

Today we celebrated Cassidy with family, friends, and our congregation. We thanked God for the amazing gift he's given us in her, made promises to raise her to know Jesus, and enjoyed hearing scripture chosen for her and read aloud by family and friends. It was a very special day for us.

Family Fun

What a great weekend! Grandpa and Grandma F. and Uncle Aaron, Aunt Sheri and Kayla were here to visit and share in Cassidy's Dedication Day. We had so much fun together, especially watching our gorgeous girls together. What little dolls we have!

4 months old

We went to the doctor today for Cassidy's 4-month checkup. She did so well with the doctor and the nurse. We were excited to find out how much weight she had gained since our last visit at 2 months. Dr. Tinney was very pleased with her growth, which still puts her right at the 25th percentile. She weighs 12 pounds, 12 ounces and is now 23 3/4 inches long! (Her hair is off the charts, though. *smile*)

Supermodel

Today was Cassidy's first ever photo shoot! She was so cute and smiley. We had so much fun helping Karen Walker get some great shots of our girl. Here are two of the pictures, shared with us by the photographer:

The New Ride

Today was a great day! We finally took our first family walk. It was 45 degrees, no wind, even a little sun peeking out. We bundled Cassidy up and put her in her brand new super-duper awesome sport buggy (thanks to The Land of Nod and our sweepstakes winnings!). She loved every second of the ride. We can't wait to do this every day!

Mommy and Daddy fought (nicely) over who got to push! This thing is so cool. It turns a full 360 with one hand and reclines in 4 positions for baby.

16 Weeks

People are always asking, "How old is she now?" First we answered in days, then in number of weeks, but now we're at the point where it makes more sense to switch to months. Cassidy is about a week away from her 4-month birthday, but today she is exactly 16 weeks old. Soon she'll be sitting up all on her own, but for now a little crib support is needed!
